Cypremort House Renovations 2021
The Cypremort House is Back Open!

The JMB Family Council is happy to report all necessary repairs have been completed. A thorough walk-through at the House has been done, and the following were repaired, replaced, and/or painted: The front porch steps, all exterior window screens, and the front porch completely restored and rescreened. A new back screendoor was installed, rotting wood at landings replaced, and miscellaneous, wood repairs were completed, too.
The dishwasher was secured, and all hoses were checked. An exterminator was obtained to treat carpenter bees.
In addition, the Family Council voted to remove the old propane tank for the fireplace due to cost of tank replacement, and for safety reasons. The tank was removed.
As you know, the Cypremort House is, mostly, vacant and if one were to accidentally leave the fireplace lit upon leaving or during an outing, it could lead to the loss of our Family home. Therefore, the Family Council is looking into the possible replacement of an electric type insert for aesthetic and safety purposes.
Due to the recent Hurricanes Ida and Nicholas, it has been reported there are a few tree limbs that may need pruning, and tree debris scheduled for removal. We appreciate your patience until these tasks are done, and we ask that you use caution until the debris is cleared.
The, "Old Sugar Mill Canal," has been checked for beaver dams by Jesse Breaux, and the Canal water is clear and flowing. Overgrown vegetation in the Canal has been removed near the pier where one can sit and relax.
Boat fishing is available by going through the gate along the Canal to the boat launch which will, then, lead to the Cypremort State Park in Vermillion Bay.
We look forward to you and your family coming, once again, to the Cypremort House, and reservations may, now, be made by contacting Debi Lauret at 337-828-7090 or by email at debi@jmbcompanies.com
