Tomb Restoration Projects 2021 - 2022
Located in the Mount Olivet Cemetery in Pineville, Louisiana is the tomb of Laura Fauntleroy Burguières (1876-1908) and baby Joe Burguières (1908-1908). Their tomb restoration was completed in 2021. Laura was the wife of Joseph Eugene Burguières (1876-1911), second son of Jules. Laura and baby Joe died shortly after his birth.
Almost 3 years to the day, later, Joseph died of an appendicitis after returning from Washington DC. He was there testifying before Congress about the sugar cane industry.

St. Helen's Cemetery in Franklin, Louisiana Through the years, as a result of hurricane surges and waterlogged soil, several graves at St. Helens have been covered. Headstones have been washed away or were never placed on graves.
A quote has been obtained from GeoModel, Inc., out of Virginia, to scan St. Helen's Cemetery. They have been featured in many documentaries. They will use ground penetrating radar to locate burial sites.
Approval from the church, and donations from the family may be sought in the future.
